The Healing Club is a 10-session, trauma-informed program combining Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu self-defense training with group professional therapy. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes (45 minutes self-defense + 45 minutes therapy). The program meets every other Saturday at 12:15pm starting May 16, 2026 through September 19, 2026.

The program is limited to 10 women per cohort to ensure safety and create deep community connections. You will be part of the same group throughout all 10 sessions.

 

Screening Call Required:

Before enrolling, you will complete a private intake form and schedule a screening phone call (10-15 minutes) with Nikki Vassala, our licensed therapist. This call serves to:

• Understand your needs and goals

• Answer any questions you have

• Determine whether The Healing Club is the right fit for you at this time

• Explain program expectations and commitment required

You must complete this screening before payment is processed. If you are not accepted into the program, any payment will be fully refunded.

Confidentiality: All information shared during intake and screening is strictly confidential and protected by therapist-client confidentiality rules.

 

Important:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a physical contact activity. By participating, you acknowledge that there is inherent risk of physical injury, including but not limited to: strains, sprains, fractures, dislocations, joint injuries, and in rare cases, more serious injury.

Medical Clearance:

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, injuries, or health concerns, you must disclose them during intake. We recommend consulting your primary care physician before beginning any new physical activity. The Healing Club is not a substitute for medical care. If you are currently injured or recovering from surgery, please inform us during screening.

Assumption of Risk:

By enrolling in The Healing Club, you assume all risks of physical injury or other harm that may occur during participation. You voluntarily assume these risks and hereby release and hold harmless White 2 Black Academy, Sara Fonseca, Nikki Vassala, and all staff members from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from your participation.

 

The Healing Club is a group-based program led by a licensed therapist. However, group therapy is not the same as individual therapy. If you are currently working with a therapist, psychiatrist, or mental health professional, you may continue. We encourage you to inform your individual provider about your participation in The Healing Club.

If you are experiencing mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or severe distress, please contact a crisis line or emergency services immediately. The Healing Club is not equipped to handle acute mental health crises during group sessions.

Nikki Vassala is available for a 15-minute individual closing session at the completion of the program to discuss next steps and resources for ongoing support.

 

Program Investment:

The total program investment is $500 USD for all 10 sessions, including all materials, refreshments, welcome package, and individual closing session.

Payment Schedule (50/50 Split Plan):

Payment 1 (Deposit): $250 USD – Due upon enrollment to secure your spot

Payment 2 (Balance): $250 USD – Due at or before Session 5 (July 18, 2026)

Payment Processing:

All payments are processed through Stripe (secure payment processor). We accept credit cards, debit cards, and ACH bank transfers. Receipts will be emailed to you immediately after each payment.

Late Payment Policy:

If your second payment ($250 balance) is not received by Session 5, we will follow up via email and phone. If payment is not received by Session 7, your spot in the program may be forfeited. In such case, you will not be permitted to continue with the remaining sessions unless payment is made in full plus any late fees.

 

100% Satisfaction Guarantee:

If you attend Session 1 and determine The Healing Club is not the right fit for you, you may withdraw and receive a full refund of all payments made (both deposit and any balance paid). This refund must be requested within 7 days of Session 1. No questions asked.

Cancellation After Session 1:

If you decide to withdraw after Session 1, the following cancellation fees apply:

• Before Session 3: 50% refund (you forfeit $250, keep $250)

• Before Session 5: No refund (program is non-refundable after Session 3)

• After Session 5: No refund

Note: Due to the cohort-based nature of the program, we cannot offer partial attendance or refunds proportional to sessions attended.

Missed Sessions:

We understand that life happens. You may miss up to 2 sessions during the 10-week program without penalty. Makeup sessions are not offered due to the cohort-based structure and session-specific content. If you miss more than 2 sessions, you may be asked to repeat the program in a future cohort. Your payment will be transferred to that future cohort or refunded (minus the non-refund amount based on the cancellation policy above).

 

Confidentiality Agreement:

The Healing Club is a private group. Everything shared by other participants during sessions is strictly confidential. You agree NOT to:

• Share other participants’ stories, experiences, or personal information outside the group

• Discuss specific content from therapy sessions

• Take or share participant names or contact information

• Identify other participants in public forums or social media

This is sacred space for healing. Breaching confidentiality will result in immediate removal from the program without refund

Expected Behavior:

You agree to:

• Treat all participants with respect and kindness

• Honor physical and emotional boundaries of others

• Give consent and ask for consent before any physical contact during BJJ training

• Not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during sessions

• Arrive on time (or notify if running late)

• Keep an open mind and beginner’s attitude

• Support the group community

If behavior becomes disruptive or harmful, you may be removed from the program without refund.

 

Note: BJJ training requires consent and communication. You are in complete control of your intensity level and pace. ‘Tap’ (submit) whenever you need to—this is encouraged and respected.

 

Optional Photo/Video Release:

White 2 Black Academy may take photos or short videos during program sessions for documentation, testimonial, or marketing purposes. Participation is entirely optional.

By default, you will be asked to opt-in or opt-out of photo/video consent on your intake form. You may change your preference at any time by notifying Sara or Nikki in writing.

If you give permission: Your photos/videos may be used on White 2 Black Academy social media, website, testimonial materials, or marketing content. Your face/identity will always be respected and used appropriately.

 

By enrolling in The Healing Club, you hereby release and hold harmless White 2 Black Academy, Sara Fonseca, Nikki Vassala, and all instructors, staff, and volunteers from any liability, claims, or damages (physical, emotional, or financial) arising from your participation in the program, including but not limited to:

• Injuries sustained during self-defense training

• Emotional distress or psychological outcomes

• Loss or damage to personal property

• Any interactions or conflicts with other participants

• Results or lack thereof from program participation

You acknowledge that The Healing Club provides educational services and is not responsible for personal outcomes. Your healing journey is your own.

 

Illness Policy:

If you are sick or contagious, please do not attend the session. Notify us as soon as possible. This protects the entire group.

Hygiene:

Please shower before sessions and maintain good personal hygiene. Fingernails and toenails should be trimmed to prevent injury to yourself and others.

Gi (uniform) should be clean. If you don’t have a Gi by Session 2, you will be asked to wear clean athletic clothing until one is available.

 

Your intake form, contact information, and health history are kept confidential and stored securely. We will use your information to:

• Process payments

• Send session reminders and important updates

• Contact you regarding your enrollment

• Provide therapy notes (if applicable)

We will NOT sell or share your information with third parties without your explicit consent.

 

If you wish to access, update, or delete your personal data, email us at info@white2blackacademy.com and we will comply within 14 days.

 

White 2 Black Academy reserves the right to modify program content, schedule, or format if necessary (e.g., due to illness, unforeseen circumstances, or safety concerns). We will notify all participants immediately of any changes. If a major modification significantly affects your participation, you may request a refund based on the cancellation policy.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Arizona. Any legal disputes will be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.

 

By completing your intake form and scheduling your screening call, you confirm that you:
