Ítalo Nunes
Ítalo Nunes was born in Brazil, in Fortaleza, and for the last 20 years he has travelled the world through Jiu-Jitsu. He started training at a very young age (13 years old) with André Luís Soares (Gigueto) and conquered his black belt from the legendary Ricardo Liborio and Marcus Aurélio, in 2006. Today he is a fourth degree black belt and has many titles and achievements under his belt. One of the most important is the IBJJF Pans 1st place, in 2020 and IBJJF World Title, in 2021.
His international journey started when he decided to participate in the IBJJF Pan Ams in Los Angeles, 2005. Winning this important event was the bridge to start his career. He continued training at American Top Team HQ, in Florida, and competing across the United States. In 2006, he moved to England, Bristol, to teach Jiu-Jitsu and later, 2011, he moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE, to teach the UAE Army for 8 years. He was one of the first instructors who helped build the biggest Jiu-Jitsu project in the world. In 2019, he returned to the United States as the BJJ head coach for Premier Combat Center, in Nebraska. In 2022 he and his wife Sara Fonseca, also a Jiu-Jitsu black belt, decided to move to Arizona and open their own BJJ School.
